Living in Indian Wells

A desert escape where style, sophistication, and serenity converge.

Indian Wells has a rich and storied past. In the early 19th century, it was home to a flourishing Native American village, known for its abundant water sources—particularly a large spring near the current City Hall. As settlers began arriving via the Bradshaw Trail on their way to California’s gold mines, Indian Wells became a key stop along the route. By 1910, the area had started evolving into a residential community. Today, Indian Wells is renowned for its elegance, exclusivity, and world-class amenities. It’s home to the Indian Wells Masters, one of just nine prestigious tournaments on the World Masters Tour, hosted at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden—featuring the second-largest tennis stadium in the world. The city is also known for its exceptional quality of life and ranks among the highest-income communities in the nation. Points of interest include the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, Indian Wells Golf Resort, Eisenhower Walk of Honor, Desert Horizons Country Club, Eldorado Country Club, Toscana Country Club, and the scenic Eisenhower Mountain.
